Hydrafacial FAQ

A Hydrafacial is designed to fit seamlessly into your schedule.

Most appointments take about 30–45 minutes, making it an efficient treatment you can enjoy even on a busy day. Despite the short timeframe, it delivers a thorough cleanse, exfoliation, and hydration, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and visibly improved immediately after your visit.

One of the biggest advantages of a Hydrafacial is that there is little to no downtime. You can return to your normal activities right after your appointment with no peeling or extended redness.

Some patients may notice a slight glow or mild pinkness immediately afterward, but this typically fades quickly—often within the same day—making it an ideal treatment before events or important occasions.

No, a Hydrafacial does not require separate extractions beforehand. The treatment uses a specialized vortex technology to gently cleanse pores and remove impurities as part of the process itself. This makes it a more comfortable and streamlined alternative to traditional facials, which often rely on manual extractions.

Patients typically find Hydrafacials to be both effective and relaxing, without the discomfort sometimes associated with extractions.

Our Hydrafacial helps with more than just your facial skin! LED light therapy, hair and scalp treatments, and lymphatic drains are also available as add-ons that help improve the appearance of your neck, scalp, hair, and face after treatment.

LED light therapy reduces inflammation and adds a healthy glow to your face. Lymphatic drainage reduces inflammation and is incredibly comfortable, like a little massage for your face and neck. A hair and scalp treatment removes buildup and promotes hair growth.

Personalizing Your Hydrafacial During the Hydrafacial Process

Hydrafacials typically have 3 main steps. Each step can be personalized. They are completed in our office during a single visit using the Hydrafacial wand, which is carefully used along the skin in different stages.

Step 1 uses both water and a skincare mixture to gently exfoliate. The water provides a topical exfoliation while the chemicals provide a chemical exfoliation, providing gentle yet incredibly effective results. This is called hydradermabrasion.

While some exfoliations can cause skin sensitivities, since Hydrafacial uses water, it leaves your skin looking and feeling glowing instead of irritated, and doesn’t require downtime.

Chemical Exfoliators

The first step of the process uses chemical exfoliators, typically a mixture of glycolic acid and salicylic acid. Our Master Aesthetician will determine which ratio is necessary for you after talking about your skin goals. Glycolic acid is used to target brightness, and salicylic acid is used to target breakouts and oiliness in the skin.

During the next step of the process, suction is used to remove the dead skin and oils softened by the exfoliation. This replaces traditional extractions completed via tools or pressure during facials.

Suction Levels

Suction levels are very precise on our Hydrafacial wand, with multiple different levels of suction. Depending on the health of your skin and where we are using the wand, we will lower or increase the levels of suction. For those with sensitive skin or if we are working around the eyes, we will lower the suction to a gentle setting.

We offer multiple ways to personalize at the end of your Hydrafacial. Because our boosters are worked in immediately after suction, they are much more effective than using them at the end of the day or in the morning.

Boosters

After the suction, we offer boosters that are worked directly into the skin. There are typically 3 different types of boosters:

We can help you pick which one will help you most based on your goals. After those boosters, we do one more pass with the wand, this time with a mix of peptides and antioxidants in the facial water to help give your skin a glow after the treatment.

We can also add lip and eye boosters during this time, targeting a specific area of your face.
